About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Elasticsearch Engineer to design, build, and maintain a scalable search and analytics infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing robust indexing pipelines, optimizing query performance, and supporting advanced use cases such as log aggregation, observability, and full-text search. This is a key role in ensuring that our data is fast, searchable, and actionable across multiple business domains.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement high-performance search solutions using Elasticsearch and the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
  • Build scalable and resilient indexing pipelines for real-time and batch data ingestion.
  • Optimize search performance, relevance tuning, query design, and index lifecycle management.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain search clusters, ensuring high availability and low latency.
  • Work with product, engineering, and data teams to support full-text search, analytics, and monitoring use cases.
  • Implement security, access control, and data retention policies in Elasticsearch.
  • Create dashboards and visualizations in Kibana to enable observability and business insights.
  • Stay up to date with the latest in Elasticsearch and observability tools to advise on best practices.
 

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working with Elasticsearch in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of index design, query DSL, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with Logstash, Beats, or custom ingestion pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or Node.js for backend/search integration.
  • Experience with Kibana for dashboards and visualizations.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Elasticsearch-as-a-Service offerings.
  • Understanding of data security, RBAC, and Elasticsearch Shield/X-Pack features.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with OpenSearch, vector search, or semantic search.
  • Background in observability, monitoring systems, or DevOps workflows.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform).
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning for anomaly detection or relevance ranking in Elasticsearch.
